Is this file dangerous or is it safe? Phrozen Software has a free software application that can answer that question: Windows Ninja, or Winja for short. What this application does is it uses VirusTotal to help you analyze files, downloads, and processes. On top of that, it comes with some extra tools that allow you to monitor running processes and services, scheduled tasks, startup applications, and network connections.

Winja is the successor to Phrozen Software’s VirusTotal Uploader. Recoded from scratch, Winja uses VirusTotal API’s in a more efficient manner and features a redesigned interface that "combines the style of Google Material and Windows 10 graphical trends." So compared to its predecessor, Winja is better looking and better at doing its job.

You will have to complete a standard installation procedure to get started with Winja. This means you’ll have to download an installer, run it, and then follow the instructions presented onscreen by a setup wizard. When you’re done and you launch Winja for the first time, you’ll be asked to pick what language the interface will use. You have two choices, mainly English and French.

Speaking about the interface, Winja has a dark-themed and user friendly interface that clearly presents the 4 main things you can do with this application:
Browse For File – the file will be upload to VirusTotal and analyzed. You’ll be able to access a detailed report once the analysis completes.
Download And Scan – enter the URL for the file you want to download and Winja will download and analyze it.
Quick Process Scan – pick a running process and Winja will analyze it.
Extra Tools – you’ll need admin rights to access 5 tools: Process Explorer, Task Scheduler, Startup, Services, Networking.

Minimizing Winja will activate the Winja Desktop Widget. Drag & drop a file onto this widget and Winja will analyze it. If you don’t like the widget, you can disable it from the Options menu.

Winja is free software.

Thanks to Winja, you can easily find out if a file, application, or process is safe. This free Phrozen Software application uses VirusTotal to analyze anything you give it.

Pros

A simple setup wizard will help you install Winja on your PC. Winja can analyze files, downloads, and processes; view a detailed analysis report on Winja’s interface and on VirusTotal.com. Winja features 5 extra tools which you can access if you have admin rights. Winja has a dark-themed interface that’s easy to use and clearly presents everything this application can do. Winja is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
